APEX Supports

The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) announced ORBIS as its official charity in 2010. ORBIS is a nonprofit humanitarian organization that works in developing countries to save sight worldwide. ORBIS prevents and treats blindness through hands-on training, public health education, improved access to quality eye care, and partnerships with local health care organizations. 
For more than 30 years, ORBIS has been fortunate to benefit from the generosity of the airline industry, which continues to help to support the group’s work. APEX member companies have numerous partnership options with ORBIS, including direct programmatic sponsorships, employee engagement programs and cause marketing opportunities. This unique partnership is the first of its kind for either organization.  
ORBIS provides the tools, training and technology necessary for local partners to assess their needs and develop workable and lasting solutions to the tragedy of unnecessary blindness. By building their long-term capabilities, ORBIS enables its partner institutions to develop their own capacity to provide quality eye care services that are affordable, accessible and sustainable.
Since launching its first program in 1982, ORBIS has worked in 90 countries, enhanced the skills of more than 315,000 medical professionals and helped establish services that have provided quality eye care treatment to more than 18.8 million people.
